HAZELHURST - Christmas might be over but one Oneida County family continues to celebrate.
The inspiration behind the array of lights came from the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation movie. Light operator Jason Hesch said he enjoys putting on the display each year.

RHINELANDER - Saturday night's freezing rain took a toll on roads in Northern Wisconsin. Poor road conditions caused a few local churches to call off their morning service. Oneida County Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Keckeisen said people should avoid getting behind the wheel. "I would recommend not traveling if you don't have to if you do need to leave or do need to travel, the best thing you can do is drive slow," said Keckeisen Keckeisen said proper braking techniques can prevent ice-related accidents. |
RHINELANDER - Winter weather may seem like it's in full force, but that doesn't stop people from needing clothes. The Warm for Winter Give-Away clothing drive serves as a way to help those who are less fortunate. Event Coordinator Jen Leschke said she enjoys serving her community. "That's why I keep doing it because I know I am helping people," said Leschke. Leschke has been coordinating the event since 2006 at the Friendly Village Retirement Center. She said as long as she's here the tradition will be too. |
