THOMASVILLE- Thomasville is gaining prominent pulmonology and internal medicine specialists as McIntosh Clinic expands. On August 24, the clinic will welcome Luis Wulff, MD, and Nicole Mette, MD.

"We are excited to have Doctors Mette and Wulff on the team," says McIntosh Clinic CEO Mike Gebel. "They are exactly the kind of high-caliber physicians our patients have come to expect from us. Many of our physicians are on a first-name basis with patients and we believe in seeing you right away when you need help. Having specialties like pulmonology in-house is a big part of getting patients connected quickly to specialized care. Connecting patients with another excellent internal medicine doctor means they have a physician they can grow with for life. We are able to provide efficient, specialized care for a lifetime."

Wulff was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and emigrated to Miami, Fla., where he spent his formative years. He attended the University of Central Florida until starting medical school. He graduated from Ross University School of Medicine in 2016 and fulfilled his internship at Aventura Hospital & Medical Center. Wulff then completed his internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic Florida, where he excelled as Junior Chief Resident and found his passion for treating complex patients. This led to his pursuit of further specialization, completing a fellowship in Pulmonary Disease & Critical Care Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he trained at the renowned Tampa General Hospital, National Cancer Institute-designated Moffitt Cancer Center and the James A. Haley VA Hospital. He received specialized training in pulmonary vascular disease, including pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary fibrosis, through the TGH Center for Advanced Lung Disease & Lung Transplant.

As a member of the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians, Wulff is excited to bring cutting-edge, high-quality pulmonary care to Thomasville and its surrounding communities.

Wulff said he loves nothing more than spending time with his wife and two children, staying active through running and soccer, and singing in the car.

Mette brings a golden academic record and years of experience in internal medicine to McIntosh Clinic. For her undergraduate studies, she graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Illinois University. She completed her post-Baccalaureate studies in pre-clinical sciences at Middle Georgia State University and her Master of Science in preclinical sciences at Mercer University School of Medicine, both in Macon, Ga. She went on to earn her medical degree at Mercer and completed her residency in internal medicine at the Medical Center of Central Georgia/Atrium Health Navicent, also in Macon. Among her scholastic achievements were numerous scholarship awards and inductions to several honor societies. She is a member of the American College of Physicians.

Mette has a big heart for giving back to her communities. She has almost two decades of robust volunteer service. A few charities and service work organizations have included the Ronald McDonald House charities, Girl Scouts of Central Georgia, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Georgia, literacy outreach, March of Dimes and the Macon Volunteer Medical Clinic.

When she isn't working, Mette enjoys taking her four dogs on walks or to the dog park (and subsequently bathing them). She frequently hosts dinner parties, game nights, and homemade brunches for friends and family.

Doctors Wulff and Mette are both accepting new patients.
