Obstetric And Gynecologic Hospitalists
Content
Baylor College of Medicine's OB/GYN hospitalists are experienced, board-certified obstetrician-gynecologists (OB/GYNs) who care solely for patients in the hospital. They are available on-site at the hospital to eliminate delays in the treatment of pregnant women and other OB/GYN emergencies, improving patient safety, outcomes and satisfaction.
OB/GYN hospitalists provide care for patients in labor, manage obstetric and gynecologic emergencies, perform obstetric and gynecologic surgeries, and assume care for OB/GYN patients who do not have an assigned physician at the hospital. OB/GYN hospitalists are also dedicated to improving outcomes for hospitalized women. They support excellent and collaborative care, development of patient safety initiatives as well as quality improvement and performance metrics. As hospitalists, they do not see patients in a clinical setting.
