Auburn Medical Practice Earns High Score
Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn has placed in the top tier of the Excellus Rewarding Physician Excellence Program, the 77 Nelson St. Practice announced in a news release.
The goal of the program is to support quality, efficiency and operational improvements at independent practices.
Internal Medicine Associates achieved a near-perfect score of 98.75 out of 100 in the program, it said.
The practice focuses on patient and provider collaboration, patient engagement, preventive medicine, early disease management and chronic disease management.
"We are honored to earn this outstanding rating for the 2023 performance year," the practice said.
"The achievement is a direct result of a determined and systematic approach toward managing our patient population with an 'all-in' team commitment at the practice level, as well as thoughtful collaboration with our patients. Additionally, we value shared communication within our medical community as we all strive to improve the health of our mutual patients."

Serving Auburn since 1975, the practice includes four medical doctors, five nurse practitioners and 46 support staff, serving more than 12,000 patients and accepting new ones.

Columbus Regional Health Physicians and eight of its primary care physician practices received national recognition for outstanding patient-centered medical home practices by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. The practices recognized were Columbus Adult Medicine, Columbus Family Medicine, Columbus Internal Medical Associates, Doctor's Park Family Medicine, Kavelman Family Medicine, Nashville Family Medicine, Rau Family Medicine and Sandcrest Family Medicine.

A new scholarship fund to help low-income children participate in Foundation for Youth activities received some high-profile backing when Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning visited the FFY's new facility to talk with young people. Manning's visit launched the Peyton Manning Scholarship Fund that helped families afford membership dues and fees for special events and field trips.
