ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 Vaccine - PrecisionVaccinations

ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 Vaccine Description

The ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine candidate consists of the replication-deficient simian adenovirus vector ChAdOx1, containing the genetic sequence of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein.

After vaccination, the surface spike protein of the specific coronavirus is produced, which primes the immune system to attack the coronavirus if it later infects the body.

ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 Vaccine Indication

The ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine candidate is being tested in clinical trials to prevent infection of SARS-CoV-2 which causes COVID-19 disease.

ChAdOx1 nCoV-2 Vaccine Clinical Trial

Clinical Trial NCT04324606: A phase I single-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled, multi-center study to determine efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity of the candidate Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) vaccine ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 in UK healthy adult volunteers aged 18-55 years. Primary outcomes: Assess the efficacy of the candidate ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 against COVID-19: Number of virologically confirmed (PCR positive) symptomatic cases [ Time Frame: 6 months ]. The number of virologically confirmed (PCR positive) symptomatic cases of COVID-19. Assess the safety of the candidate vaccine ChAdOx1 nCoV: Occurrence of serious adverse events (SAEs) [ Time Frame: 6 months ]. The occurrence of serious adverse events (SAEs) throughout the study duration.
