It follows a troubling trend: In 2024 there were six times as many cases of whooping cough as there were the prior year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Illinois Continues Push To Boost Vaccination Rates - 1340 WJOL

Illinois is continuing its efforts to boost vaccination rates in the state as a measles epidemic continues to spread. This year, seven people in Illinois have gotten the disease. The state stopped covering vaccines for kids covered by the state’s CHIP program in 2016. The state is working to hold off the epidemic by educating the public about the true effects of vaccines.
